I think the easiest way for those with blue shadow fears to start out are with clear bright aquas (like Urban Decay’s Clash, probably my least favorite color, admittedly), navies, mermaidy blue-greens, and clean primaries (like Color Tattoo’s Blue on By, which is my other personal least favorite color). All of those approaches are easy because they aren’t really burdened by blue shadow stigma—that lingering association with light blues as “dated” or for “weird old spinster ladies.” I’ll do some posts about those options, but.I think the real Fabulous Blue Eyeshadow is the powder blue. You can do it! I believe in you!
The photo above is L I T E R A L face perfection and I’m reblogging it because it’s a really un-scary way to approach those taboo powder blues: light blue (shimmer or matte) as the lid and inner corner with a darker crease and outer corner. With a cat eye and a neutral-but-not-boring lip. Take note of the warm (gold!!) lip shade in combination with the very cold shadow color. You can do it!!
